The Latin American Workshop on Law and Economics (LAWLE) is an annual academic event aimed at fostering research in the field of Law and Economics in Latin America.
The organizing institutions are Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Chile), Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (Mexico), Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), Universidade de Brasília (Brazil), George Mason University (USA), Universidad de Montevideo (Uruguay) and Universidad del CEMA (AR).
- The first LAWLE took place on November 20–21, 2014, in Santiago, Chile, featuring presentations by a select group of researchers.
- The second LAWLE was held on November 19–20, 2015, at ITAM, Mexico City, Mexico.
- The third LAWLE took place on November 17–18, 2016, at Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia.
- The fourth LAWLE was hosted by the Universidade de Brasília, Brasília, Brazil, on November 16–18, 2017, completing the first cycle.
- The fifth LAWLE was held on November 15–16, 2018, at Hotel Atton El Bosque, Santiago, Chile.
- The sixth LAWLE took place on November 20–21, 2019, at ITAM, Mexico City, Mexico.
- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no LAWLE workshop was held in 2020.
- The seventh LAWLE was held as a virtual event on November 19, 2021, organized by George Mason University, USA.
- The eighth LAWLE took place on November 17–18, 2022, at Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia.
- The ninth LAWLE was hosted by the University of Brasília, Brasília, Brazil, on November 16–18, 2023, jointly with the Economics and Politics Research Group 2023 Annual Meeting.
- The tenth LAWLE was held on November 20–21, 2024, in Santiago, Chile, marking the 10th anniversary of the LAWLE workshops with special invited lectures and keynote speeches.
- The eleventh LAWLE is scheduled for November 20–21, 2025, in Mexico City, Mexico.
- The twelfth LAWLE will take place in November 2026 in Fairfax, USA.
- The thirteenth LAWLE will take place in November 2027 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
